Of Heartache and Romance

Faith is like looking at the moonlight
Knowing it is but the evidence of the sun

Reverse engineering the universe
In the intricacy of the designs
Challenging the gravity of where we are
I color outside of these broken lines

What's the right way to act in the face of this
Whether of the sovereign or just happenstance
Caught in the throes of a distorted reflection
Of tragedy, of beauty, of heartache and romance

Making harmony of the chaos
The revisions of something divine
I long for the day we will we see it all in closing
Everything will expire, even time

Outliving the vapor
Tell me it's not too late to salvage our breath
When everything begins
20/20 blindness, lost in days of night and a life of death

Every word flat-lines seeking its pulse
She fell asleep and never woke up to the rise of the shadow
Like a tomorrow that never was or will be
My prayers reaching for the stars
And I am locked outside of you, but you are free

Seeking what I cannot see
To mend our hearts and feel you again
Apart from a world that manufactures affliction
And preys on innocence as we're born in our sin

Highlight the truth in me
Spark in me this nightlight tongue
I speak of your beauty evermore
But you remain a song unsung

Trying to find the melody, the words
To soothe such sorrow beyond the art
In the composition of memory
In the journals of a broken heart...
